The Birth of Our Foundation

Nicky’s journey began over 27 years ago as he struggled with a dependency on drugs and alcohol. From his early days of sobriety Nicky saw the value in 12-step based recovery in a safe, structured environment. Nicky began sponsoring men, taking commitments and being of service. He realized that there were simply not enough hours in the day to help, mentor and guide everyone he wanted to. It was at this point he decided to open up Palm Desert Sober Living. Shortly after, Palm Desert Sober Living expanded to serve women with the opening of Jennifer’s House. Nicky’s dream of reaching as many people and showing them a new way of life started to take shape. Due to the success of Palm Desert Sober Living’s philosophy, Jennifer’s House and Nicky’s House alone couldn’t meet the demands of the recovery community in Palm Desert, California. In 2016, Nicky added three additional sober living homes.

Palm Desert Sober Living believes that a strong foundation is key in everyone’s road to recovery. Anyone who has the desire to recover is not exempt from trials and tribulations, but with a strong foundation those trials and tribulations become stepping stones to the next path of their recovery. Palm Desert Sober Living’s philosophy is simple: with a foundation consisting of 12-step based meetings, a structured living environment, and a disciplined desire for recovery, substance abuse and/or mental illness can be managed effectively.
